 rospectus overlooks the Mediterranean coastline to its south from a ridgeline slightly more than five miles north of the coast. From an elevation of about 1700 feet above sea level, its view is spectacular. Covenfolk reside in a village on the shore of a small mountain lake less than half a mile to the north.
Founded in the late twelfth century by Zarine Jerbitonis, a daughter of a noble Armenian family, Prospectus maintains cordial ties with Cilician Armenian nobility, who generally regard Prospectus as a noble estate. The conventum contributes support to Arqakaghni monastery near Adana, and has good relations with the Armenian church. |
