mmochostos is Sedes Merceris Syriae, founded in 1268 AD following the destruction of Antioch by Sultan Baibars. Situated near the harbor of Famagusta, on the east coast of Cyprus, Ammochostos (Greek for "hidden in the sand") spreads throughout several buildings and one cavern.
