| Description | ||
| Sorcerer's Gold creates gold, in whatever form or fashion the caster desires (subject to the caster's artistic ability). Of course, this gold will disappear after the effect ends or the conduit closes, and it will be easily detectable by Awareness, so this isn't the answer to financial problems for all sorcerers. Still, there are enough shady characters with magical talent that this paradigm has to be watched for by merchants who are aware of its existence. Most merchants in major cities will be aware of the possibility of such things, but some in the hinterlands might be fooled - once or twice at most. | ||
| Effects | |||
| Most often, the created gold will be in the form of nuggets or simple bullion. An adept with sufficient artisan or artistic ability could create it in a more finely fashioned form, such as a coin. Of course, mimicking the coinage of a realm magically is a capital crime in almost any land. | |||
| Scope | Base
Scope (2 points) Scope is altering a State (1 point). Range is Touch: Moderate (4-9 points) Area is N/A Duration Interval is one hour (Impressive, 10-20 points). This duration is long enough for most uses, and could be Maintained. |
||
| Potency | The amount of gold created depends on the potency of the effect. A heaping handful of gold - enough to fill a typical pouch - is an Impressive effect (10-20 points). Greater amounts are not within the Configuration Might limits of Sorcery. | ||
| Intricacy | Creation: Moderate (4-9 points) | ||
| Total Base Cost | Spontaneous: (61), Optimized: 31 | ||
| Temper Aspects | Maintain might be useful (1 point) | ||
| Notes | ||
| Anchor is not typically used with this paradigm, even though that might seem to be a great solution for smaller amounts of gold. Because an Anchored effect still retains some esoteric linkage with its creator, such an effect could be used to try to track the creator. Since those who use this sort of paradigm seldom wish to be tracked, they prefer not to leave the magical evidence lying around behind them. | ||
