Events center around the covenant of Fitheach Tigh ("Ravenhome"), which has been a site of great magical power for ages. In the times before the Romans came, the first fortress was built on the site by the Tuatha de Danaan. A simple wall of vitrified stone large enough for a camp and associated herds, this early stronghold formed the basis for all later construction.. Abandoned after the Romans built Hadrian's Wall, the site lay dormant until the withdrawal of Rome from the Isles.

Burned out but not destroyed during the Schism War, the stronghold was taken over by a victorious group of Tytalus, Bonisagus, and Ex Miscellanea Magi in the eleventh century. They built the structures that now serve as gatehouse and keep, and the library where the Magi's laboratories are located.  The architecture is unusual for the period, pre-Gothic rather than post-Romanesque.  It is thought that some magic (or possibly Infernal power) must have contributed to the design and construction of the two buildings.
The name of that covenant has been stricken from the records of the order, having fallen into diabolism early in the twelth century. It was attacked , and all the inhabitants executed, by a group of Tremere, Flambeau, and Quasitors. The site then lay barren and forgotten through several decades, home only to the ravens and homeless spirits which found it in their wandering.

They were supported in their efforts by the covenant at Crun Clach, but were opposed by MacGruagachan. When it became clear that the group had convinced the Tribunal that rebuilding the site was a good idea, a rival group of new Magi came forward to contest for the right to build a covenant on the site. Their opposition was narrowly defeated, and the young Magi had made their first enemies before they even began to rebuild.
They pushed forward with their plans, however, and within a few years, had refurnished the old stronghold sufficiently that they declared a new covenant, Fitheach Tigh. The new covenant was recognized in general by the other covenants of the Tribunal, and will be officially added to the rolls of the Order at the Tribunal of 1200 AD.
