Scottish Blackface: The most common breed of sheep among the Covenant's flocks (around 500 head), the Scottish Blackface is grazed on the island hillsides north and east of the Covenant. The long, coarse wool is used for blankets and carpets, and provides the bulk of the Covenant's wool exports each year. The ewes also provide a regular supply of milk for the Covenant. |

| North Country Hill Breed: The next most common breed of sheep among the Covenant's flocks (around 350 head), these sheep are grazed on the island hillsides south and east of the Covenant. The fine fleece provided by this flock is also exported by the Covenant each year, but is also woven into fine cloth for use at the Covenant. | ||||
| Welsh Mountain: The Covenant has a smaller (around 150 head) flock of Welsh mountain sheep, which Sim is breeding for their fine cochddu (black or reddish-brown) fleece and lean mutton. This flock will likely be expanded in the future, and are currently grazed on the hills east of the Covenant. | ||||
| Shetland: The Covenant also has a couple of smaller flocks (between 80 and 100 head) of Shetland sheep (related to the Norse breeds). These flocks are primarily subsistence flocks, used by the covenfolk for mutton and fine hand-spun wool and knit clothing. They are grazed close to the Covenant, usually to the south and west toward the Bog. | ||||
